80% Of People Use Twitter For Biz

Penn-Olson:

According to a new research from Kamaron Research Institute, about 80% of the people use Twitter for business purposes. More than 8 in 10 listed “business” as the reason why they tweet.

This holds true for younger twitter-ers as well. Nearly half of those aged 25 and under gave “business” as the primary reason they tweet.

This Study, “Why Do You Tweet” was conducted online with a respondent group size of 280 Twitter Users.

Just 3 days ago, Biz Stone told Venturebeat that strategic statistic tools for businesses would soon be officially introduced on Twitter. Assuming the findings to be representative of the whole Twitter community, Biz Stone and co can very well expect a great sign up rate upon launch.

It seems like Twitter is doing all the right things to appeal to its users, helping it grow on the right track towards monetization.

Get The Most Out Of Social Media Marketing

It is no secret that social media marketing is becoming more of a prevalent aspect to businesses today. With so many people practically living on a computer of some sort it makes sense to target these markets as much as possible to gain more traffic, clients, and profits. Below are some very helpful tips on getting the most out of your social media marketing that I read on Duct Tape Marketing.

Always amplify the content on your site and the content regarding your business that is located on other sites as well. Make sure that people know about you and where to find continuous content about your company.

Many business owners, especially those who are new to social media marketing, find themselves starring at their computer trying to figure out what to say, what to post, and what not to post. You will learn these things over time, it’s a trial and error concept. If something work’s to your benefit… do it again, if not then find something else to run with. Look at other business profiles to see what they are posting and including on their profile, that will give you a general idea for what to post on yours.

Integrate – Don’t treat your social media activity as something separate from your other marketing initiatives. Feature links to your social media profiles in your email signature, on your business cards, in your ads, and as a standard block of copy in your weekly HTML email newsletter.

Mistakes Commonly Made In Measuring Social Media ROI

The reason why you first embarked on this journey is because you think it will benefit your business and bring you returns. The biggest mistake you can make in social media marketing is failure to measure these returns. We have seen how to measure social media ROI but what are some of the common mistakes that people make when measuring social media performance?

  • Failure to have a clear goal in mind. If you don’t know where it is you expect to go in social media, then how are you ever even going to measure your success? As stated on Penn Olson.
  • Not measuring your total number of clicks received. When you count the number of clicks your site receives then you ultimately know how many people are interested in your site and products.
  • Not paying attention to search results. Measuring search results is key for your social media. This lets you know if people are talking about your business and products. If this information does not come up often or at all in search results then you probably need to work a little more on your presence.
  • How many of your followers are reading your tweets? How many are clicking on the links you shared? How many are making actions on your website? Did you ask these questions when you look at your growing follower base? Getting more followers is one thing, converting them into sales leads is an entire different story.
