Not content with conquering the world of human fashion, the folks who brought us the Snuggie (”The Blanket with Sleeves!”) are now taking aim at man’s best friend.

The Snuggie for Dogs — available in two colors and four sizes — has just hit the market. And it promises to do for Little Spanky what the original Snuggie did for Little Spanky’s owner last holiday season.

“The original Snuggie blanket was such a success, we decided to extend the product line to include the entire family, which, for many of us, means a dog,” said Anne Flynn, director of marketing for Allstar Products Group, the Hawthorne, N.Y., firm that sells all things Snuggie.

Some New Yorkers stuck in small apartments on a hot summer day have a new option: swimming in huge bins that once held trash.

The idea for the unlikely urban club came from David Belt, president of Macro Sea, a Manhattan design firm.

A contractor loaned him the three big metal bins and they were cleaned, lined with plastic and filled with water. Belt then rented an abandoned Brooklyn lot through the end of August.

And suddenly, he had himself three swimming pools, surrounded with lounge chairs, grills and a few cabanas.

It’s an experiment for now, not open to the public. Macro Sea is hosting private parties, film screenings and lectures at the trash bins-turned-into-pools.

Gives new meaning to the phrase “dumpster diving”.

Tim Berry recently posted an article suggesting that the age of newspapers is on it’s way out if not already out. However, I do still see many people today reading newspapers including myself. I think there is still a great deal of people who rely on the newspaper for their news, but yes, there are much more people that don’t bother with them anymore. Look below to enjoy some common reasons why people will miss their newspapers.

• They are great for starting fires.
• Newspapers make very fashionable party hats for any occasion.
• For the use around the house, you never know when you’ll need something to wrap breakables in.
• Making yourself feel good about recycling them.
• Wrapping presents. Although this one i don’t think gets used quite often, it’s not very pretty wrapping material.

This may be my favorite – Rocky sold pudding! Now I realize it’s actually a high-protein snack for people who want to add protein to their diet, but I really don’t care. It’s still called Sylvester Stallone Pudding, and that’s funny. There are still sites that sell this product, but it’s listed as discontinued, which is too bad for Sly.

I don’t even know what limoncello is. But I’m buying whatever Danny DeVito is selling. You may recall, DeVito once appeared on The View in a somewhat inebriated state, and at the time he blamed it on too many limoncellos. So the fact that he’s now endorsing this lemon-flavored Italian liqueur leads me to believe one thing – he knows the product.

As an inventor, and owner of BCP USA, Mann probably invented the box he’s thinking outside of. He considers himself to be an inventor and innovator, he said.

The company performs many functions. One aspect includes designing products on behalf of other companies; a second aspect involves BCP developing products under its own label or brand; and another aspect involves inventors approaching BCP and asking BCP to develop a product. BCP determines whether it wants to develop the product for a fee on behalf of the inventor.

French tourism company Bocages has created a pop-up cabin for four that features a transparent dome in the roof, a telescope and a sky observation kit.

Carré d’étoiles are portable and reversible cube-shaped structures crafted with recyclable wood. Included in each parquet-floored cabin are a double cabin bed, a sofa bed for two, a kitchenette with refrigerator and hot plates, shower, toilet, wardrobe, electric heating, a bio-ethanol fireplace and cast-iron garden furniture for outside.

In addition to modern conveniences like flat-screen TV and connections for MP3, phone and internet, Carré d’étoiles cabins also come equipped with bedding and towels, and extra services such as cleaning and breakfast can be added. Black-out blinds, meanwhile, facilitate use of the telescope and stargazing kit.

Just launched this year, Carré d’étoiles have now been installed in several holiday spots in France. Pricing is EUR 25,000 per unit, according to a report on Forum Eco; structures are delivered fully equipped and ready to use, with an ROI ranging from at least 10 percent in the first year of operation to 30 percent or more in following years, Bocages says.
