Sadly, almost none of them where you buy an idea from somebody. To succeed in business ANYwhere, you have to produce either goods or services that are needed or wanted by a large enough audience, priced reasonably (in the average customer's mind), and are either relatively unique, difficult, and / or in high demand. If it's a service you provide, experience counts, especially if it makes you good at what you do. Both my wife and I work from home, but what we do is relatively difficult, requires a college education, and there aren't that many people doing it. Thus we make decent money. As an example: if you want to stuff envelopes, understand that there's some kid in China who will do a thousand envelopes for what you charge for 10, in half the time. That's because there's nothing unique about stuffing envelopes and there are too many people doing it already. On the other hand, if you're a software developer who makes a browser plug-in for live-zoom geo-mapping based on satellite feeds... well, that is fairly rare, in high demand, and if you're any good at it, you'll probably do OK. And even then, in 10 years, there will be somebody in China who is willing to do for ten cents what you charge a dollar for. That's just how it works. I realize this doesn't help much. Truth is, if you don't have an education, a unique invention, and / or aren't willing to do something difficult that is in high demand, don't expect to succeed all that much. good luck! |
